Brayton Energy is an innovative R&D firm dedicated to making meaningful contributions in the field of environmentally responsible, sustainable energy production. We specialize in design, prototyping, and testing of turbomachinery and gas turbine systems. Our offices, laboratories and production facilities are at a uniquely informal waterfront office complex in Hampton, NH, approximately 40 miles north of Boston.
The Brayton cycle is the thermodynamic cycle which describes the workings of the gas turbine engine; the basis of the jet engine and stationary gas turbine gen sets. It is named after George Brayton (1830-1892), an American engineer who reduced to practice several piston-based engines using the Brayton cycle. Brayton Energy derives its name as a tribute to George Brayton, whose workshop was in nearby Exeter New Hampshire - about 10 miles from our facility. Brayton Energy specializes in all aspect of gas turbine and turbomachinery design.
Building on a close working partnership spanning nearly two decades, our founding team of industry experts formed Brayton in January 2004. The firm has since enjoyed profitable growth. Our R&D focus has generated a diverse and highly interesting variety of assignments for our technical staff. Brayton holds extensive intellectual property in turbomachinery, gas turbines, and high temperature heat exchangers. Brayton has grown into a leading center of advanced R&D for the emerging alternative energy industry. Brayton has created a highly focused staff of over 20 engineers, designers, and technicians, complemented by long-time collaborations with many of the industry’s most senior consultants and academic authorities. Our staff use state of the art CAD, CFD, FEA and other computational tools. Our facility is equipped with in-house prototyping and manufacturing, plus uniquely focused fluids and combustion laboratories.
