Brayton Energy is a highly innovative R&D group dedicated to making meaningful contributions in the field of environmentally responsible, sustainable energy production. Based on a partnership of principals who have worked together for over 15 years, our work in supporting innovative R&D efforts leads to a diverse and highly interesting variety of assignments for our technical staff. We have enjoyed profitable growth since inception. Specializing in design, prototyping and testing of turbo machinery and associated systems, Brayton Energy offers an informal work environment near the ocean in Hampton New Hampshire, approximately 40 miles North of Boston.
Our engineers see a diverse range of challenges, and must be comfortable switching between analytical and experimental tasks on a frequent basis. Our work environment rewards creativity, enthusiasm, team collaboration, and a willingness to see problems through to completion without close supervision. Brayton offers a dynamic environment where your contributions really make a difference.
We maintain a well-equipped prototype shop with expanding capabilities in the development and testing of gas-turbine engines and related hardware.

Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Gas Turbine Engineering
Job Description (Responsibilities):
We are seeking a highly-experienced engineer to work on advanced gas turbine engine development. Our projects typically involve small gas turbines for unconventional cycles involving recuperation, ceramic hot-section components, and high-speed turbomachinery systems. You will take on a mix of design, analytical, and ‘hands-on’ testing assignments related to the gas turbines. Projects include solar-thermal-activated gas turbines for dish and power-tower applications, advanced gas-turbine truck propulsion systems, as well as research into other advanced energy conversion systems.
Qualifications
BSME/MSME with technical strengths in all aspects of gas turbine design; including hot structures, aerodynamics, combustion, rotor dynamics, bearings, seals, basic metallurgy, and gas turbine testing. Five or more years experience in gas turbine design is mandatory. The position will focus on gas turbine design and the management of a small team of analysts and design specialists. The job will also encompass a significant amount of testing, working in our combustion and gas turbine laboratory.
Job Title: Technical Gas Turbine Consulting
Job Description (Responsibilities):
Brayton is seeking specialized consultants with practical experience in the design of gas turbines. The ideal candidate would be semi-retired engineer from General Electric, Pratt & Whitney or other gas turbine company with many years of experience. Flexible working hours are expected and accommodated. The candidate would attend design reviews and offer practical guidance and mentoring in a causal environment. Areas of particular interest include gas turbine component life analysis, aerodynamics, materials selection, metallurgy, and/or combustion. Those with a special area of expertise in any gas turbine design or test discipline will find Brayton engineers to be receptive and enthusiastic.
